37 years in Brazil

Focus on the environment and local communities are a major part of FCA’s commitment at its plants in Brazil. Over the years, FCA has worked alongside local authorities and non-governmental organizations on a range of major initiatives to develop and preserve the culture and traditions of communities around its plants in Pernambuco and Betim.

One example is the “Árvore da Vida” program established in 2004 to promote social, economic and cultural development and, ultimately, self-sufficiency for local communities. More recently, the Group has also been involved in a major educational initiative benefiting 44 schools and approximately 7,000 students in Pernambuco. In addition, in keeping with its long-standing commitment to the environment, the Group has implemented several innovative programs to protect biodiversity in and around the Pernambuco plant – FCA’s most technologically-advanced and sustainable in Brazil.
