Lesson learned

The sustainability-focused Stakeholder Engagement Events held during last years in the 4 Regions have helped us to gain a deeper understanding of our stakeholders and their expectations regarding sustainability.

These meetings have made it possible for us to explore fresh ideas on which to build new initiatives and solutions. The stakeholders with whom we engaged:

• are part of an audience that is generally knowledgeable about sustainability topics - even if they don’t use that term - and aware of what these topics mean to their lives and to the greater community.

The technologies linked to sustainability like non-conventional propulsion systems must be affordable for all customers

FCA and the entire automobile industry should propose new solutions for fuels and engines. We need to be advocates for radical change

•   expressed a comprehensive view of the challenges and opportunities surrounding certain emerging sustainability issues that are crucial in the automotive sector (e.g., access to new technology, new mobility models, promoting a culture of sustainability)

FCA and its business partners must focus on the growing issue of traffic congestion around the world

FCA plays an important role in educating consumers on the environmental impact of the choice of engine and fuels they use

•   expect to continue an ongoing dialogue with FCA to keep them updated on current activities and progress toward the Group’s sustainability commitments

This initiative was truly useful in getting to know the Group’s sustainability activities

We shouldn't focus just on product sustainability, because it is important to understand the process behind the product as well

•   want FCA to get more involved in promoting a culture of sustainability outside and within the company walls so that sustainability becomes something for everyone and not just for a limited number of people

It is important that future generations are educated to be aware and proactive in progetting the environment. Large organizations play an important part in promoting a culture of sustainability within the community

The Group should think of concrete actions to be taken to educate about sustainability and implement these actions along the entire value chain. It is important that sustainability issues continue to be sistematically addressed both inside and outside the enterprise

•   perceive the importance of sustainability processes and issues, and ask that FCA guide and inspire response to current trends (e.g., research and innovation).

The growing desire to use advanced technology tied to connectivity in the vehicle is opening the gates to new solutions

Companies in the automotive industry must play an innovative role in the decisions regarding smart cities and the development of cities and infrastructures
